Marilyn Visits the Local Animal Refuge Center

Marilyn took her weekly trip out to the local Animal Refuge Center to visit the cat houses and socialize with the dogs. To her surprise, there was a special guest at ARC this month named Trouper. Trouper is a blind raccoon. He was found as a baby badly beaten by a golf club. All because he has walked onto a golf course and a player was not happy with it. When Trouper was found, he had a severely swollen brain and could not see or hear. It’s been very slow recovery for this little animal and he will never be released back into the wild.  Although his hearing came back some, he still cannot see or smell.  He is a real trouper though and is now an animal ambassador and a registered service animal.  He even has his own book. He works hard at his very important job of educating the public on animal cruelty.  Trouper will stay forever in our hearts.
